So Close to My Skin leads the audience on the relentless search led by The Runaway for an alluring and mysterious “Betty”. Musical genres ranging from rock to electronica underscore a myriad of dark and colourful encouters.

This production celebrates the 25th anniversary of Compagnie Vox Théâtre, which created this innovative solo musical and toured it extensively from 1991 to 1993 to much critical and popular acclaim across Ontario and Québec. In his new english adaptation, Pierre Simpson breathes a second life to the role of The Runaway under the audacious direction of Mathieu Charrette and the daring new electronic arrangements of Olivier Fairfield and Simon Guibord. Zuchini Grotto Theatre Company, Ottawa’s only producer of professional English-language musical theatre, is proud to present this fractured thriller that explores every human’s quest for a sense of belonging.
