About The Cabaret
Life Up On The Wicked Stage is the
perfect after-Christmas entertainment for the whole family.
The award-winning Zucchini Grotto cabaret company present an
evening of songs from the world of musical theatre that celebrate
all aspects of life: everything from following your mother's
advice, to falling in love, to failing a spelling bee, to fattening
up on leftovers.
We're digging through the vaults to bring you 22 songs from a range of classic and modern musicals, including: Annie Get Your Gun, Wicked, Hello Dolly!, Legally Blonde, Avenue Q, Sweeney Todd, [title of show], The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Full Monty, Funny Girl, The Last Five Years, Spring Awakening, Gypsy, and Footloose!
Our cast of four professional musical theatre performers will be backed by piano, bass, and percussion, with musical direction by Wendy Berkelaar.
Zucchini Grotto produced the two award-winning, sellout productions of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change in Ottawa, as well as a number of sellout cabaret shows at the NAC's 4th Stage. Life Up On The Wicked Stage is the perfect way to start 2008. Get your tickets early!

This show marks Sarah's OLT debut, and it is her third cabaret with Zucchini Grotto. She is ridiculously happy to be back amongst the Zucchini crew. She started her career as a sequin-clad show-girl aboard cruise ships. Previous roles include many many many auditions in New York City, and singing with some random jazz trio in Atlanta, Georgia . Most of the time, she waits tables with flair in Toronto. She is currently working on building a show of her own! She hopes you enjoy this show as much as she enjoys performing it.
